Gary Cahill: England duty has distracted me from transfer hell

Gary Cahill has told how England was his salvation after being left in transfer limbo.
Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs were linked to protracted but unsuccessful £12million bids for the Bolton defender.
That means he could leave struggling Wanderers on a free in the summer at the time he hopes to have staked a claim in Fabio Capello’s Euro 2012 plans.
“It’s been a rollercoaster season for me, and it’s been really tough at club level,” said Cahill, who could start in central defence against Spain tomorrow or Sweden next week.
“But at international level it’s been great, as we’ve qualified and done really well. It’s been difficult personally. I need to get back fully focused and play the way I know I can.”
