Dirk Kuyt wants to return to Feyenoord, claims his pal Salomon Kalou. Kuyt played with Kalou at Feyenoord before joining Liverpool in 2006 and the Chelsea striker says he is keen to go back home to Holland.
Kuyt, 31, has a release clause in his contract, which allows him to join a foreign club for £1million, and Kalou says he has told him he plans to re-join the Rotterdam club.
“Dirk told me he wants to return now,” said Kalou on Dutch TV. “Dirk said to me that I also must come, that we both have to return to Feyenoord.”
Meanwhile, Lille claim they may not be able to afford to make Joe Cole’s loan move permanent.
Cole has been a success during his season-long loan spell with the Ligue 1 side and says he would like to stay.
But chairman Michel Seydoux says they may struggle to match his £90,000-a-week Anfield salary.
“Joe Cole has spoken and I thought it was great,” said Seydoux. “It’s rare that an English player comes to France and says he wants to continue.
“A discussion has been held. I do not make money. You must be reasonable. We’ll see when we will make the main decisions.”
