Neil Warnock wants to begin his Leeds revolution by signing old favourite Paddy Kenny.
Elland Road boss Warnock declared “major surgery” is required on the squad he inherited from sacked predecessor Simon Grayson, and he wants to bring in at least SIX new players in the summer.
Keeper Kenny, 33, tops his wish-list, and he is set to swoop for QPR’s No1 at the end of the season.
Halifax-born Kenny also played under Warnock’s management at Bury and Sheffield United.
Warnock signed him for Rangers from the Blades for £750,000 two years ago.
Kenny, who is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract at Loftus Road, would jump at the chance to link-up with his old manager for a fourth time - especially if the R’s lose their battle against relegation from the Premier League.
Warnock says he needs to re-vamp his playing resources because “I want to win promotion next season.”
And he admitted:”I have already started with my plans to freshen up the squad. We have almost agreed to sign one of my main targets on May 1.
“That would be a great start. But I think we need quite a few new players.
“I know in my own mind what I am looking for in the summer and, if I am being honest, I wish it was the end of the season now.”
Warnock also has two more Rangers stars on his radar.
As well as Kenny, he also wants defender Clint Hill and veteran midfielder Shaun Derry, who previously played for him at Bramall Lane and Crystal Palace.
