Wolves striker Kevin Doyle will be offered a way out of his Molineux nightmare by Southampton in a £4million swoop at the end of the season.
Republic of Ireland international Doyle, 28, was left on the bench in Wolves' 2-1 defeat in their last match against Stoke on Saturday night.
Saints boss Nigel Adkins wants to add another forward to his squad, regardless of whether or not they are promoted to the Premier League.
And Doyle, who is also wanted by old club Reading, will want to stay in English football's top-flight with both Saints and Brian McDermott's Royals looking likely to get promoted.
Former Cork City star Doyle has made 85 appearances for Wolves and scored 21 goals.
