Birmingham braced for new Ridgewell bid

Ambitious Championship leaders Southampton are preparing to splash more cash in January to secure promotion.

The Saints plan to go back in for Birmingham defender Liam Ridgewell, after having a late bid for him rejected in August.

And Southampton boss Nigel Adkins also likes Preston's teenage striker Jamie Proctor, who has two goals this term in League One.
