West Brom will hang a £3million pricetag on wantaway striker Simon Cox - to frustrate Cardiff and Ipswich.
Baggies boss Roy Hodgson is ready to offload the Republic of Ireland international at the end of the season to raise funds for signings.
But chairman Jeremy Peace is determined to demand the sort of fee that could scare off a string of Championship clubs.
Cardiff boss Malky Mackay has placed Cox high on his hit-list, while Ipswich and Derby have also made enquiries in the last few weeks.
The 24-year-old, signed for an initial £1.5m from Swindon in 2009, is ready to move on to reignite his career.
