Ba: I won't quit Toon in January

Demba Ba has promised Newcastle he will not quit the Toon Army in January.
Ba, 26, has become the hottest property in the Premier League after it was revealed he has a buy-out clause from his contract worth around £7m.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has already admitted he is monitoring developments while Paris Saint Germain are keen and there would be no shortage of takers at that price.
But Senegal striker Ba, who is reporting up for African Nations Cup duty, has told Newcastle he will not push to leave in January and is ready to repay the faith they showed in him last summer.
Newcastle picked him up on a free from West Ham last summer despite doubts about a knee after he failed a medical at Stoke 12 months ago.
But red-hot Ba has scored 15 goals for Newcastle this season and his promise shows he feels a degree of loyalty to the club for giving him his big chance in the Premier League.
Ba has now pledged himself to Newcastle until at least until the end of the season and that is a major boost for Alan Pardew.
Newcastle boss Pardew is keen to renegotiate Ba's contract but to remove the buy-out clause would take a huge pay rise and put him on big money.
While Ba is ready to stay in January, it is clear that if he carries on scoring in such form the Premier League big boys will try to snap him up in the summer.
