Wigan and Doncaster lead chase for ex-Liverpool striker

El Hadji Diouf is training with Roberto Martinez’s Wigan – but is in talks with Championship strugglers Doncaster Rovers as he plots a comeback.

The Senegalese star has been a free agent since leaving ­Blackburn and is keeping fit with the Latics who are watching his ­progress.

Diouf fixed up the Wigan stint through close pal Ali Al-Habsi, a former Bolton team-mate, but he is also mulling a move to Donny.

New Rovers boss Dean Saunders is looking to strengthen on a budget and would like to sign him.

Diouf has yet to commit to a club despite offers, but Doncaster could persuade him to join their battle to move away from the bottom of the Championship.
