Exclusive: Wolves make £1m move for Championship striker

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has made an opening bid of £1 million for Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard - but been told to increase his offer.

McCarthy wants highly-rated Maynard to join his survival fight and is keen to take advantage of his contract dispute with the Robins.

However Derek McInnes has rejected the initial approach and wants around £2.5 million for Maynard, although he is open to swap offers.
